The Underground Load Haul Dump (LHD) loader is found in underground mines where it loads material from the face, hauls it, then dumps it in a designated location. The rugged, rubber tired LHD is similar to a Large Wheel Loader but was developed for hard rock, underground applications. Its two-part articulation makes it highly maneuverable and helps in tracking which is critical due to the sharp curves and tight quarters in underground mines. It is narrower, longer, and lower which makes it ideal for underground applications where height and width can be limited.
Simformotion™ is the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc. During the development of Cat Simulators, the Simformotion team worked closely with subject-matter experts to develop each exercise using the same techniques as found on real-world jobsites. Our curriculum works in tandem with simulation training to create a full educational experience for the learner. Throughout the material you will see images taken directly from the Cat Simulators simulation software. The images are used to help illustrate lessons and techniques.
