The Articulated Truck (aka dumper, dump hauler, rock truck) is made to move and dump heavy material around work sites. Articulation is achieved by using a hinge-like joint that allows the vehicle to turn very sharply. In the case of the Articulated Truck, it is made up of two separate frames. The cab and engine are in front, with a rear dumping body, and a hitch in between. These types of trucks move a lot of material efficiently over rough terrain and are often found on construction and mining sites.

Simformotion™ is the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc. During the development of Cat Simulators, the Simformotion team worked closely with subject-matter experts to develop each exercise using the same techniques as found on real-world jobsites. Our curriculum works in tandem with simulation training to create a full educational experience for the learner. Throughout the material you will see images taken directly from the Cat Simulators simulation software. The images are used to help illustrate lessons and techniques.
