The versatile Hydraulic Excavator is capable of mass excavation work including digging, trenching and clearing. Available with several work tool attachments, the Excavator can tackle many different tasks effectively. Also known as trackhoes and diggers, sizes can vary from a small model used for home landscaping, to a version found on mine sites that is larger than an apartment building.
In this program, learners will focus on safe and effective operation of medium-sized tracked Hydraulic Excavators in a city construction environment. Learners will apply correct operational techniques recommended by subject-matter experts. Training exercises include maneuvering the machine, hoisting objects, trenching and pipe installation, clearing debris, digging footings, and bench loading. Learners will practice in the virtual environment and should repeat exercises until mastered. Corresponding lessons are presented along with each exercise, with a multitude of quizzes to test competency throughout the program.
Simformotion™ is the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc. During the development of Cat Simulators, the Simformotion team worked closely with subject-matter experts to develop each exercise using the same techniques as found on real-world jobsites. Our curriculum works in tandem with simulation training to create a full educational experience for the learner. Throughout the material you will see images taken directly from the Cat Simulators simulation software. The images are used to help illustrate lessons and techniques.
